Who is YogaBetch?
I've been around yoga since birth. My Mother was an avid follower in the 80's and led a Vegan/Holistic Lifestyle. Although the 90's strayed my mom down a more hectic lifestyle, (think beepers and fast food), I rediscovered yoga in my teens.
Living an active lifestyle through Dance and Sport, Yoga was pretty relative. However my passion for Yoga became recognized during my conversion to Zen-Buddhism in 2004. Since then I have been on a spiritual journey and my love of Yoga blossomed.
My desire to help the human collective was always apparent as a young adult. I had this internal Knowing that my Life's purpose was to understand and help the human condition. I was brought up to admire the differences between cultures by obsessively learning through travel and art. I received my B.A. Degree with a major in both Political Science, International Affairs and a minor in Dance from Pace University in New York City.
I went on to work for the United Nations, Non-profits, and NGO initiatives but I wasn't exactly fulfilled. I further ventured out to the world of International Trade where I constantly traveled but was left spiritually inept. At least I learned exactly what I did NOT want, so I shifted my focus and went on to manage an online Vintage store, where I would curate beautiful finds from my travels. I decided to explore the fashion industry and by being at the right place at the right time, I landed my now career for a Major British International Fashion House that provides me with an appropriate balance of creativity and freedom to pursue my true passion.
My Father being a Mathematician, I would say I come from a very 'logical' background, providing the ability to bridge the gap between those who seek only the physical attributes of yoga versus those that desire the whole Mind, body, and spiritual affects.
Both are equivocally justified and that's what I bring to my practice every day.
